Beautiful vintage piece of Reed & Barton. It is a sweet, little bunny rabbit that plays Rock A By Baby. Music mechanism works perfectly. The top fits perfectly over the music part. Can be re-glued if you'd like. I just thought it was cool to see the inner workings of the little music box, since I'm kind of a gadget person. I named her Bee Bee Bunny.
Marked Reed & Barton on the bottom & SANKYO on the music twist mechanism. I believe it is silver plate. I don't see a sterling or 925 marking anywhere on it.
Not sure of age, but she has a fantastic patina to her. I got her 30+ years ago. You could shine her up with silver polish if you want her to be brighter again, but I love the darkened patina to her so I've left it over the years as is. I actually bought her when I was pregnant many years ago.
I hate to see her go, but it's time for a new home to be able to enjoy her!
