Outboard roller combination chains are a variant of the standard combination chain, featuring extended pins that accommodate steel rollers. This design reduces sliding friction and chain pull. They can incorporate standard combination chain attachments. The cast links are high-grade copper bearing Duramal, sidebars are medium carbon steel, and pins are heat-treated medium carbon alloy steel. Electroplated chain pins, recommended for corrosion resistance, are available upon request. Cottered construction is the default, unless riveted construction is specified. These chains are used in light single-strand car hauls, truck pushers, and assembly line conveyors in the automotive industry.
