Chinese Vintage Shiwan POTTERY MudMan Figurines.
Majolica Asian Art.
MUD refers to the material used to shape the figures. The Shiwan Ceramics was created by villagers after the rice harvest to create a vigorous economy.
The larger figure is 4" H . A beautiful piece of an Asian Tree Cutter sitting on a pile of wood next to his axe, wearing his traditional hat on his back. There are faint markings on the bottom.
The Smaller Figurine is a Shiwan Figurine measuring 3 ½" H. He is sitting reading a book. On the bottom is China right in the pottery.
Both are in Excellent Pristine Condition! No chips, cracks or flaws. Both are from between the 1950s & 1960s
